To me, the most effective form of print advertising: participatory ads. (At least that's what I used to call them. Nowadays, they'd be called interactive.) If you can get someone to stop, pick up a pencil and become involved, you got 'em. The trick is to make the time they spend worthwhile, and a bit of humour never goes astray. Incidentally, all the client asked for was a coupon ad; in other words, the bottom section.
